OCTOBER 5: This special event – Girls Jazz Day – is presented by Preservation Hall Foundation in conjuction with Loyola University College of Music and Media.

Girls Jazz Day is free and open to all young girls in Grades 6-12 in the Greater New Orleans area!  Students should have at least one year of experience on their instrument, as we'll be developing improvisation skills during the course of the day.

This FREE workshop has assembled an incredible group of local area women educators and instrumentalists to support and develop young girls musical skills. We'll work on teaching the basics and will help foster those skills in a supportive atmosphere. In addition to our local education team, we are also pleased to welcome special guest, world-class violinist Sara Caswell, with more instructors to be announced soon!
